Custodian II

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a high level of attention to detail and a strong commitment to providing excellent service to the Camosun College community. As a Custodian II, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of college buildings, including offices, classrooms, and common areas.
Key Responsibilities- Cleaning and Maintenance: Perform a wide range of cleaning and custodial duties, including stripping, applying, and maintaining floor finishes, removing spots and extracting carpets and upholstery, and carrying out routine maintenance on custodial equipment.
- Facilities Support: Assist with the maintenance and repair of college facilities, including arms/disarming building security systems and monitoring and reporting unsafe conditions or situations.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Develop and maintain positive relationships with college staff and the public, and provide excellent customer service to students, faculty, and staff.
- Education and Experience: Grade 10 or equivalent, plus BSW 1 course related to institutional or industrial custodial skills, together with one year related experience or equivalent.
- Skills and Abilities: Some knowledge of machines and equipment associated with custodial service is required. Must have good communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to relate well with other college staff and public.
