About the Role

Vancouver Film School is seeking a highly motivated and organized Marketing and Events Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our Marketing and Events team, you will play a critical role in supporting the planning and execution of events, campaigns, and marketing materials that showcase our world-class educational programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Marketing and Events Specialist and Manager in planning and delivering successful events, campaigns, and marketing materials.
  • Build and set up online event platforms, including event registration platforms and working with the Web Developer to update VFS.edu as needed.
  • Create and manage event registration platforms, ensuring seamless user experience.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing and Creative team to promote events and develop marketing materials, ensuring timely delivery of assets.
  • Manage email inboxes and respond to attendee queries, flagging important issues to the Marketing and Experience Manager.
  • Manage event materials across VFS, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
  • Champion VFS as a world-class educational facility, ensuring events and activities align with VFS strategy.
  • Track alumni success and manage industry project databases for marketing materials.
  • Support the online store fulfillment process.
  • Perform other duties as reasonably required by the Marketing and Experience Manager and Director of Marketing.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education or certification in Event Management or a related field is highly desired.
  • This is a junior-level role, and while some work experience in events is preferred, we will consider recent graduates and co-op students.
  • Experience in delivering events for a post-secondary educational institution is an advantage.
  • Proven relationship management skills, including the ability to bring together multiple stakeholders to deliver successful events and activities.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional, collaborative environment.
  • Ability to solve problems independently and under pressure.
  • Superior organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated capacity for accuracy, attention to detail, and thoroughness.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated good judgment and initiative.
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office, knowledge of CRM, and event planning platforms.
  • Experience using Monday.com, Slack, Eventbrite, Zoom, and Hopin are a huge asset, but ability to demonstrate quick understanding and learning new technologies will be equally valued.
  • Flexibility to travel to events and work evenings.
  • Ability to drive/access a vehicle is a bonus but not essential.
