Job Title: Machinist

We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join our team at Ontario Ltd. as a key member of our manufacturing department.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining various machine tools and equipment to produce high-quality parts and products. This is a permanent position with a 35-hour workweek.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts, and tables to ensure accurate production.
  • Repair and maintain machine tools and parts to ensure optimal performance.
  • Set up and adjust production machinery and tools to meet quality and productivity standards.
  • Fit and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerance.
  • Maintain, repair, and calibrate precision measuring instruments to ensure accurate measurements.
  • Document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances.
  • Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports.
  • Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments.
  • Set up and operate conventional and computer-controlled machine tools.
  • Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related field.
  • Ability to work independently with tight deadlines and repetitive tasks.
  • Physically demanding work environment with standing for extended periods.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Flexibility and initiative to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Team player with a quick learning ability.
Work Environment:

Our manufacturing facility is a general manufacturing environment with a focus on precision and quality. The successful candidate will be required to work in a physically demanding environment with standing for extended periods.
