Job Title: Software Development Specialist

Scotiabank is seeking a highly skilled Software Development Specialist to join our High Value Payments Engineering team. As a key member of our Agile team, you will contribute to the design, development, and implementation of software solutions that meet the needs of our customers and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and test software applications using Java and other relevant technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
  • Contribute to the development of technical documentation and knowledge base articles.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend improvements to our software development processes.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on Java and microservices architecture.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions on time and within budget.
  • Strong understanding of Agile development methodologies and principles.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Artifactory, and Docker.
