Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Pastry Maker to join our team at The Mediterranean Pastry & Bakery. As a Pastry Maker, you will be responsible for preparing dough for pies, bread, rolls, and sweet goods, as well as batters for muffins, cookies, and cakes. You will also be responsible for requisitioning or ordering materials, equipment, and supplies, and training staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls, and sweet goods, and batters for muffins, cookies, and cakes according to recipes or special customer orders.
  • Prepare pastry for special occasions, such as weddings and birthdays.
  • Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies.
  • Bake mixed dough and batters.
  • Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food.
  • Prepare special orders.
  • Frost and decorate cakes and baked goods.
  • Train staff.
  • Ensure that the quality of products meets established standards.
  • Inspect kitchen and food service areas.
  • Organize and maintain inventory.
Requirements
  • Baker Trade Certification.
  • Excellent oral communication skills.
  • Client focus, dependability, and team player.
  • Initiative and organized.
  • Work Term: Temporary.
  • Work Language: Bilingual.
  • Hours: 30 to 40 hours per week.
