Fraser Health is seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective management of medications for our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Process medication orders in accordance with established protocols and procedures.
- Verify the accuracy and completeness of prescriptions, including checking for allergies and demographics.
- Prepare and process prescriptions, including counting, measuring, packaging, and compounding medications.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of dispensed prescriptions, including verifying order entries and performing final checks.
- Process prescriptions for temporary inpatient leaves of absence, including reviewing, translating, and converting existing medication orders.
- Enter and maintain accurate records of medication verification and quality assurance checks.
- Maintain inventory and ward stock levels, including filling requisitions and identifying outdated medications.
- Perform related clerical duties, including keyboarding, answering phone calls, and maintaining medication and prescription records.
- Grade 12 and graduation from an accredited Pharmacy Technician program or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Current practicing registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia.
