About the Role:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Highway Engineer to join our team at Egis Canada. As a Senior Highway Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the design and delivery of transportation infrastructure projects, including highways, interchanges, and bridges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and delivery of transportation infrastructure projects, including highways, interchanges, and bridges.
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight to junior engineers and technical staff.
  • Prepare and review technical reports, contract documents, design drawings, quantity estimates, and cost estimates.
  • Ensure that corporate and client QA/QC practices are completed on all projects.
  • Support the highway engineering portion of proposals, project work plans, and budgets.
  • Monitor overall work progress and technical performance on highway design elements to ensure timelines and targets are being met.
  • Coordinate with clients, approval agencies, utility companies, contractors, etc.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with industry professionals, other consultants, and stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • University degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.).
  • Excellent reputation working with the Ministry of Transportation (MTO).
  • Experience with highway engineering and the consulting engineering environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of highway engineering, including policies, regulations, guidelines, and operational procedures.
  • Demonstrated experience in preliminary and detail design work with proven design capabilities.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, with clients, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to think creatively.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and have access to a vehicle with valid registration and insurance.
  • 20+ years of progressive-related experience in highway design, including MTO highway design.
  • Ability to be approved in the MTO RAQS system for various specialties within the detail and/or Preliminary Design categories.
