Job Summary:

The Early Childhood Educator will be responsible for creating a nurturing and engaging environment for children aged 0-12 years. This includes developing and implementing child-care programs that promote physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Bathing, diapering, and feeding infants and toddlers
  • Developing and implementing child-care programs
  • Storytelling and leading activities
  • Supervising staff, trainees, or volunteers
  • Assisting early childhood educators in carrying out programs
  • Ordering supplies and equipment
  • Assisting with record-keeping
  • Encouraging creativity through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity
  • Engaging children in activities
  • Guiding children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits
  • Preparing snacks and arranging rooms or furniture
  • Observing children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems
  • Preparing reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors
  • Discussing progress and problems at staff meetings
  • Establishing guidelines for behavior
  • Attending staff meetings
  • Establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships
  • Planning and maintaining a safe environment
  • Planning and organizing activities for school-age children
  • Supervising and coordinating activities of other early childhood educators and assistants
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • First Aid Certificate
  • CPR Certificate
  • Basic security clearance
  • Own transportation
Work Environment:

The Early Childhood Educator will work in a non-smoking, air-conditioned environment at our child care centre. The work setting is a child care centre or day care centre or nursery school.
