Job Title: Rigger

Sony Pictures Imageworks is seeking a skilled Rigger to join our team.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Rigger to create 3D character rigs and animation interface controls for skeletal motion systems and body/facial deformations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of writing utility scripts and core software tools to streamline the character setup process.

Responsibilities:
  • Creates 3D character rigs and animation interface controls for skeletal motion systems and body/facial deformations.
  • Writes utility scripts and core software tools to streamline the character setup process.
  • Meets schedules and show deadlines, participates in dailies, rounds, and team reviews of work in progress.
  • Interacts with production, supervisors, and team/peers to problem-solve and share information related to show/assigned tasks.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of applicable software platforms, including LINUX, UNIX, Maya, Mudbox, shell, and MEL scripting language.
  • Background or experience in fine art, accompanied by a thorough understanding of physical motion, weight, balance, and form.
  • 2-year diploma or 1-year certificate, or 2-3 years of experience in the field.
Benefits:

The anticipated base salary for an Associate position is $26.44 to $36.32/hr, and for an Intermediate position is $37.50 to $53.80/hr. Benefits include healthcare, tuition reimbursement, RRSP's, Sick and Vacation leave, and standard increases as applicable.
