Job Summary:

The Early Childhood Educator Assistant will work under the supervision of experienced early childhood educators to provide high-quality care and education to children in a child care centre or nursery school setting.

Responsibilities:
  • Bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers with care and attention to their needs.
  • Develop and implement child-care programs that support the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Engage children in activities such as storytelling, teaching songs, and preparing crafts to promote their learning and development.
  • Assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping accurate records of children's progress and development.
  • Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for children.
  • Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors.
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related field.
  • Ability to work in a noisy environment.
  • Availability to work 32 to 40 hours per week.
Working Conditions:
  • Combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, and kneeling.
  • Repetitive tasks and attention to detail required.
Personal Suitability:
  • Punctuality and reliability are essential.
  • Flexibility and ability to work as part of a team are required.
