Key Responsibilities:- Bathing, diapering, and feeding infants and toddlers
- Developing and implementing child-care programs that support the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
- Storytelling and leading activities that promote learning and development
- Supervising staff, trainees, or volunteers
- Assisting early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
- Leading activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest
- Ordering supplies and equipment
- Assisting early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records
- Encouraging children to express creativity through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity
- Engaging children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs, and preparing crafts
- Guiding and assisting children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits
- Preparing snacks and arranging rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods
- Observing children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and preparing reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors
- Submitting written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors
- Discussing progress and problems of children at staff meetings
- Establishing guidelines for behavior
- Attending staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children
- Establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
- Planning and maintaining an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children
- Planning and organizing activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours
- Supervising and coordinating activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants
- Child Development Assistant (ECE Level 1) certification
- Child Development Supervisor (ECE Level 3) certification
- Child Development Worker (ECE Level 2) certification
- Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate
- First Aid Certificate
- CPR Certificate
- 1-2 years of experience in early childhood education
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
