Project Coordinator (Vancouver)

We're seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager to join our team, who will assist in the management of various projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical knowledge of construction and be able to analyze and solve problems effectively.

This role will primarily assist a Senior Project Manager on large-scale Tenant Improvement projects with high-end design and detail. It's a great opportunity to work on exciting projects in Vancouver and develop your skills in project management.

This role is based out of our Surrey, BC office, but we offer remote and flexible working arrangements. The role will also require travel to projects in Vancouver.

Responsibilities:

Constructability and Design:

  • Assist in submittal review and constructability review in documentation and on-site
  • Provide support to Senior Project Managers and manage aspects of trade partners and projects as needed
  • Involved in monthly reconciliations of projects, detailed analysis of invoicing, site progress, and financial profitability
  • Issuing of contracts to trade partners
  • Start-up documentation, requesting insurance and bonds, WCB notices, etc.
  • Project documentation, including labour, materials, and equipment management, cost coding, submittals, schedules, meeting minutes, change orders, etc.
  • Subtrade/Supplier Management: ability to manage trade partners and suppliers, and mitigate issues that may arise in the course of a project
  • Client Interface: attending meetings with Senior Project Managers, architects, consultants, and clients to manage project issues and maintain positive working relationships

Qualifications:

  • Required Post-secondary, technical education (BCIT) or similar in a construction or industry-related program - Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent
  • Engineering or Architecture background would be an asset
  • Industry Experience - 5+ years
