Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Critical Care team at William Osler Health System. As a Critical Care Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Planning: Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and emotional needs, develop and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate the effectiveness of care.
  • Safe Nursing Practice: Ensure safe nursing practice in all aspects of the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
  • Compliance and Quality: Maintain compliance with policies and procedures associated with observations, and ensure high-quality patient care through adherence to established standards and guidelines.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Provide professional, patient-centered care, and work collaboratively with the inter-professional team to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Education and Health Promotion: Provide health teaching to patients and families, including thorough discharge instructions, to ensure continuity of care in the community.
Requirements
  • Experience: A minimum of two years of experience in a post-anesthesia care unit, emergency, or critical care unit, with experience working with patients requiring ventilator support and hemodynamic monitoring.
  • Certifications and Education: Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario, Critical Care certificate, and a Post-Anesthetic Care Nursing course (if applicable).
  • Skills and Competencies: Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, conflict-resolution, and decision-making skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as a member of an inter-professional team.
