Job Title: Speech-Language Pathologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team at School District #63 (Saanich). As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will play a critical role in supporting the communication and literacy development of our students, particularly those from Indigenous backgrounds.

About the Role

This is a temporary position, with up to 2.6 FTEs available. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with school teams, district staff, parents, and children to provide culturally safe speech-language and literacy support. You will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and intervening with students who require speech and language services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinating speech-language services with school teams
  • Identifying, assessing, and evaluating students with communicative disorders
  • Planning, developing, and providing effective intervention programs
  • Supporting students with evidence-based language intervention and structured literacy support
  • Collaborating with school teams to support language goals in the curriculum
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent academic training
  • Eligibility for registration with the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of BC
  • Recent experience in a school setting is preferred
  • Experience working with Indigenous communities is an asset
