About the Role

At BGIS, we are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Facilities Maintenance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of our client's facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cleaning Duties
    • Dust all office furniture and equipment
    • Empty and clean waste baskets
    • Collect and dispose of coffee cups and other waste
    • Spot clean walls, partitions, light switches, and doors
    • Clean and polish chrome and other metal surfaces
    • Clean partition glass and windowsills
    • Clean and disinfect washroom fixtures
    • Dust baseboards and low air vents
    • Dust mop all office hard floor surfaces
    • Vacuum all carpeted areas
    • Remove garbage bags from cleaner's cart and dispose of them
    • Polish wooden furniture and filing cabinets
    • Dust and damp wipe office equipment
    • Wash metal and painted wall surfaces
    • Disinfect telephones
  • Other Responsibilities
    • Notify management of any deficiencies or needs for repairs
    • Clean kitchen counters, sinks, and appliances
Requirements
  • 1-year minimum experience in industrial/commercial facility cleaning operations
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently
  • Team player with good verbal communication and writing skills
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship skills
  • Positive attitude towards Environment, Health, and Safety
  • Knowledge of national and industry codes and standards such as WHMIS
