Job Title: Mail Operations Supervisor

The Mail Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the efficient manual and machine processing of mail in an assigned area of the shift or section. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills to manage a team and ensure deadlines and service commitments are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set daily priorities and schedules staff to ensure optimal productivity and efficiency.
  • Implement and promote workplace safety and health programs, and take corrective action to rectify unsafe operating conditions.
  • Supervise, coach, and provide guidance to employees, promoting a respectful work environment and administering human resources processes.
  • Maintain optimum productivity levels by monitoring and adjusting staffing to workload, and recommending the use of overtime as required.
  • Perform quality checks on all aspects of the designated shift or section, and investigate abnormalities and resolve issues.
  • Analyze daily productivity reports to determine problems and trends, and work to improve performance and implement best practices in productivity.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or provincial equivalent (GED) or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 1 year experience managing a team or 2 years' experience working within a unionized environment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Working Hours:

Sunday from 22h00 to 06h00, Monday to Friday from 23h00 to 07h00.

Safety Sensitive Position:

This position may be considered a Safety Sensitive position and has additional requirements under Canada Post's Substance Use Policy.
