Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team at Komatsu. As a key member of our National Service Group, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and servicing heavy-duty equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair heavy-duty equipment, including mining and construction machinery
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues
  • Adjust, repair, or replace defective equipment parts, components, or systems
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment
  • Experience with Micrometers and measuring tight tolerances
  • Work with minimal supervision, but also participate in the work of other mechanics and apprentices
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic Certification, including Red Seal Certification
  • 3-5 years of experience in mining or construction-related fields
  • Previous experience working with Joy Global products is an asset
  • Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical systems
  • Experience in customer-facing roles and understanding of customer relationships
  • No restrictions for access to mine sites
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and in field environments
  • Good organizational and planning skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under multiple deadlines
  • Hold a high standard for quality and safety
  • Valid Alberta Driver's License
  • Team-oriented approach and thought process
