Position Overview:

JOB TITLE: Immigration Research Specialist (2 positions)
Department: Professional Standards, Research, Education and Policy
Reports to: Director, Professional Standards, Research, Education and Policy
Language Requirement: English
Classification: Full-time

Role Contribution:

The selected candidate will plan, implement, and oversee all facets of institutional and applied research focusing on immigration, professional practices, policy, and education. This role is crucial in enhancing the College's understanding of the industry and its local, national, and global implications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the operations of the Unit, developing and executing strategic initiatives while providing mentorship and management to the team.
  • Oversee the creation, validity, and reliability of assessment tools that measure knowledge, skills, and competencies for educational and professional purposes.
  • Coordinate and report on research initiatives that support strategic planning and institutional effectiveness.
  • Engage in research projects of varying complexity using appropriate quantitative and qualitative methods.
  • Assist in developing evaluation tools to assess the College's impact on applicants and the public.
  • Prepare reports for institutional units and stakeholders regarding trends and research outputs.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • PhD in research methods, measurement, evaluation, social sciences, education, or a related field.
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in institutional or applied research and statistical analysis.
  • Experience in all phases of research projects, from planning to dissemination.
  • Expertise in developing assessment frameworks and psychometric analysis.
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset.
