Job Title: Casual Learning Strategist Instructor

Saskatchewan Polytechnic is seeking a Casual Learning Strategist Instructor to join our team.

Job Duties:
  • Develop and deliver remedial instruction in math and sciences to support students in achieving their academic goals.
  • Design and facilitate online learning opportunities to cater to individual and group needs.
  • Provide educational advice and support to students, including exam reading accommodations and study skills instruction.
  • Liaise with internal and external partners to ensure student progress and success.
  • Record and maintain statistics, providing regular reports to the Student Development program head.
Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Bachelor of Education in Math and/or Sciences, or equivalent combination of education and training.
  • Two years' recent and relevant experience in remedial teaching, preferably in math and/or science.
  • Ability to support students in an online environment, adapting content to enhance student outcomes.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Indigenous social, economic, and cultural challenges in Saskatchewan and their impact on Indigenous students.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Training and/or experience in using common software packages, such as MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to create and manage a positive learning environment.
  • Experience working with students who have learning disabilities and other special learning needs.
