About Our Opportunity

The Government of Nova Scotia is seeking a skilled Facilities Project Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will play a critical role in the coordination and administration of our facilities strategy.

Primary Accountabilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing office moves and the acquisition and disposal of assets across the province
  • Monitoring lease expiry dates and recommending renewal, extension, or re-tendering of leases
  • Preparing needs analyses and space programs for internal and central agency approval
  • Conducting threat risk assessments and monitoring budgets and critical timelines
  • Providing subject matter expertise and guidance to employees on facilities-related matters
  • Developing and maintaining an electronic library of facility plans
  • Managing asset inventory and special projects
Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree + 1-year related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Experience in procurement, project management, and client management
  • Knowledge of government policies and procedures, as well as building codes and standards
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Working Conditions

This is a permanent, full-time position based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The successful candidate will be required to work in a comfortable office environment with regular travel to attend project meetings. A valid Nova Scotia driver's license is required.
