About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Radiological Technologist to join our team at Nova Scotia Health. As a key member of our Diagnostic Imaging department, you will be responsible for delivering patient-centered care while operating radiological/accessory equipment with minimal supervision.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in radiological technology, with experience in performing diagnostic or therapeutic procedures requiring the use of ionizing radiation. You will be expected to exercise independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative in your work, while maintaining a culture of safety in the workplace.

Travel to other sites may be required, and you will be expected to work effectively in a multidisciplinary/interdisciplinary environment. About You

We are looking for a candidate who meets the following qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Radiological Technology
  • Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) certification
  • Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) licensure
  • Previous experience in radiological technology is an asset
  • Qualification to work in more than one Diagnostic Imaging modality is an asset
  • Basic Life Support Certification
  • Ability to use time effectively by organizing and prioritizing duties, while working independently and under minimal supervision
  • Possess the physical capabilities to perform the duties of the position
  • Demonstrates initiative, organizational and prioritizing skills; and the demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within inter-professional teams
  • Comprehension of the technical language in order to be able to review and use manuals and take part in relevant discussions
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
Hours
  • Long assignment full-time position; 75 hours biweekly
  • Approximately 18 months
  • Shift work and call required, evenings, nights, and weekends
Compensation and Incentives

$30.83 - $37.54 hourly

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
