Position Overview

Compensation: Minimum $38.53/hr - Maximum $63.58/hr

The Nuclear Medicine Specialist, under the guidance of the Supervisor and Director of Imaging Services, is responsible for executing technical procedures and aiding in the clinical assessment and care of patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • The Nuclear Medicine Specialist employs their expertise to generate diagnostic images while ensuring a safe and positive experience for patients.
  • In modalities that produce radiation, specialists adhere to and enforce safety protocols as outlined by relevant health regulations.
  • They promote education and ongoing learning to keep pace with technological advancements for themselves and their colleagues.
  • The specialist prepares and administers doses of radiopharmaceuticals, positions patients for imaging, and operates nuclear medicine equipment, including SPECT/CT or PET/CT scanners.
  • They are accountable for maintaining radiation safety, implementing quality control measures, disposing of radioactive materials, and monitoring environments to ensure compliance with health regulations.

Qualifications

Candidates must have graduated from a 2-year AMA-accredited Nuclear Medicine program; certification from ARRT and NMTCB is required, along with on-call responsibilities.
