About the Role

CBK Construction is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator - Earthworks Finish Dozer to join our team. As a key member of our field operations, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining our dozers in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain dozers to ensure optimal performance and safety
  • Perform minor maintenance and inspections to prevent equipment downtime
  • Regulate height and angle of the blade to achieve precise grading and finishing
  • Drive dozers in passes over surfaces to raise or lower terrain as specified by the superintendent
  • Follow marks on grade stakes or hand signals to ensure accurate grading
  • Level soil, rock, and debris to achieve smooth and even surfaces
  • Demonstrate clear understanding of roadway plans, drawings, and grades to ensure accurate execution
  • Collaborate with other team members to complete tasks and achieve project goals
  • Perform other related duties as required

Requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 seasons of experience with sloping and leveling (finish work)
  • 5 seasons of experience as a finish dozer operator
  • Experience operating on commercial and industrial projects is an asset
  • Gradesman experience is considered an asset
  • Valid CSTS-09, WHMIS 2015, Ground Disturbance, and CSA-approved 6" steel toe work boots
  • Hard working, positive attitude, and willingness to learn
  • Desire to complete tasks in a timely manner
  • Personal vehicle and valid driver's license required

Working Conditions

Operators will work outside in all weather conditions and must be able to spend long periods of time sitting in their vehicle or walking/standing on the job site. They must be willing to commit to 50+ hours per week at various project locations, including working most Saturdays. Typical shifts are 7:00am - 5:30pm.
