Job Title: Sr. Category Director, Home

Job Summary:

The Sr. Category Director, Home is responsible for driving sales, market share, and EBIT growth across all formats for the Home category. This role requires a strong understanding of the market, competitive landscape, and customer needs to develop and execute strategies that meet business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute category strategies to drive sales, market share, and EBIT growth.
  • Lead a team of Category Directors to ensure product assortment, sales, and buying plans are in place to support category targets.
  • Manage annual category budgets to achieve national category P&L and GMROI targets.
  • Oversee assortment, planning, merchandising, buying, and on-time execution of quarterly seasonal programs.
  • Work with the control label brand team to develop innovative and differentiated products that grow the brand and achieve overall strategy, sales, and market share targets.
  • Deliver against control label objectives to achieve annual sales, market share, and profit objectives.
  • Develop and communicate merchandising direction for each retail format for the Home category.
  • Develop and implement promotions and programs for the Home category.
  • Coach, develop, and mentor direct reports to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their roles.
  • Collaborate with the vendor community to maximize sales and profit.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to invest in the business for growth ahead of market.

Requirements:

  • 10 years of business experience in marketing, merchandising, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing P&L statements.
  • A strong understanding of the market and competitive landscape.
  • Proven ability to develop short and long-term plans in line with corporate strategies.
  • Progressive and innovative with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to gather and synthesize customer, competitor, and market insight and information.
  • Strong data management and analytical skills with strict attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to deliver results in a high-pressure environment.
  • Post-secondary education (university or professionally accredited college) or equivalent experience.
