Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a Family Practitioner, Addiction Medicine to cover clinic work in our continuum of services for clients seeking assistance for mental health and substance use disorders.
The successful candidate will work within a team that includes nurses, social workers, and other physicians, including psychiatrists.
Key qualifications include:
- Medical Degree and eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia
- Current Canadian Medical Protection Association coverage
- Eligibility for a faculty appointment with the University of British Columbia, School of Medicine
- Certification in Addiction Medicine or eligibility and willingness to pursue certification
- Experience in prescribing opioid agonist treatment
- Ability to work as a member of an interprofessional healthcare team
Responsibilities:
- Provide medical assessment, withdrawal management, co-occurring disorders, pain management, and opioid agonist treatment
- Work within a team to achieve excellence in client-centred care
- Foster a collaborative inter-professional practice environment
Requirements:
