Job Summary:

The Mircom Group of Companies is seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for acquiring goods and services to satisfy the inventory needs of our manufacturing department while minimizing shortages and inventory costs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Procurement: Acquire goods and services to satisfy the inventory needs of the manufacturing department while keeping shortages and inventory as low as possible.
  • Cost Reduction: Reduce part cost while improving quality and delivery times.
  • Expedited Delivery: Expedite goods delivery when necessary.
  • Vendor Management: Negotiate while maintaining a positive relationship with vendors.
  • Supplier Sourcing: Find new and alternative suppliers for existing and new components.
  • MRP Execution: Execute on MRP plan on Purchase Orders

Requirements and Skills:

  • Education: University, College, or Technical Post-Secondary education, Degree in Business, Engineering or related field is preferred
  • Experience: 1 to 3 years of purchasing goods experience.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with AX or D365 systems is an asset.
  • Negotiation Skills: Experience negotiating with suppliers.
  • Analytical Skills: Superior analytical skills and ability to develop recommendations and strategic solutions from data/information.
  • Organizational Skills: Well organized and able to balance multiple competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Time Management: Need to have high sense of urgency and capable of prioritizing needs.
  • Teamwork: Team player
