Overview:
The Mircom Group of Companies is on the lookout for a Quality Assurance Specialist to oversee the testing and validation of our advanced fire safety, communication, automation, and smart building solutions. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and compliance of our products through rigorous testing and evaluation.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Formulate testing strategies and protocols for the verification of networked fire alarm systems and configuration tools.
- Create comprehensive documentation for testing processes and regression testing plans.
- Conduct thorough testing of product features, functionality, stability, and regression.
- Design and manage personal laboratory test networks.
- Collaborate with the QA team and Product Developers to coordinate testing efforts.
- Assist in replicating customer issues within the QA laboratory.
- Provide constructive feedback to developers to enhance product usability.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in quality assurance testing or a related field.
- In-depth knowledge of both wired and wireless networking protocols.
- Proficient understanding of IT infrastructure and networking equipment.
- Familiarity with cloud-based software solutions.
- Ability to utilize network protocol analyzers for troubleshooting and analyzing communication issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-driven with the ability to work effectively in a team setting.
- Experience with debugging tools such as JTAG, BDM, and FPGA programming is advantageous.
- Proficient in Microsoft Windows Operating Systems.
- Experience with Real-Time Operating Systems.
- Background in working with electronic circuits and engineering lab equipment.
- Capability to read schematics and modify hardware is a plus.
- Familiarity with issue tracking and management tools like Bugzilla and JIRA.
- Hands-on experience with product installation and configuration using hand tools.
- Maintain a tidy and professional workspace.
Educational Background:
- Diploma in electronics or a related electro-mechanical technology.
- Degree in electrical, software, or mechanical engineering.
