Waste Connections US, Inc is seeking a CDL Route Driver to join our team in Vancouver, WA.

Job Summary:

The CDL Route Driver will be responsible for safely operating a garbage truck on specified routes to collect solid waste. The ideal candidate will have a valid Class B CDL with air brakes endorsement and a clean driving record.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate a garbage truck on specified routes to collect solid waste.
  • Read an electronic route tablet and service each customer identified on the route or assigned by the dispatcher.
  • Operate hydraulic lift (from inside the cab) to service garbage carts and dispose of trash at designated facilities.
  • Perform routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles, including checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.
  • Ability to perform a physically demanding job, loading and unloading, at times with no helpers.
  • Courteous interaction with customers and perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort:

  • Extensive physical activity, requiring strenuous physical work, heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling objects over 50 pounds many times throughout an 8+ hour shift.
  • Work environment involves exposure to physical risks, such as moving mechanical parts, and requires following basic safety precautions.
  • Employee is exposed to outside weather, including frequent wet conditions, as well as exposure to fumes and vibration.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Valid Class B CDL with air brakes endorsement as a minimum.
  • Clean driving record.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of truck components in order to complete DOT pre- and post-trip inspections.
