Position Overview

Dover House Senior Care Home is on the lookout for a dedicated culinary specialist to enhance our team within our warm and inviting senior living environment.

Key Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will possess a genuine enthusiasm for preparing and baking wholesome, home-style meals tailored to the tastes of our senior residents. The role includes serving breakfast a la carte and adhering to a structured weekly menu for lunch and dinner. Proficiency in following recipes is essential, along with the ability to prepare meals with various textures, including chopped, pureed, thickened, minced, and cut foods. A strong emphasis on presentation is required. Reliability, adaptability, and a willingness to learn are crucial attributes for success in this position.

Qualifications and Skills Required

  • Food Safety and WHMIS certification
  • Current immunizations, including Covid-19 and TB testing or X-ray
  • Recent and satisfactory criminal background check
  • Relevant experience may substitute for formal culinary education
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Valid driver's license
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Job Type: Casual, Part-Time

Compensation: Starting at $27.56 per hour
