Sanctuary AI, recognized as a leading startup, is in search of talented Machine Learning Engineers to enhance our team of expert engineers, researchers, and scientists focused on addressing core challenges in robotic perception, dexterous manipulation, planning, and reasoning.
In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing advanced algorithms, rigorously evaluating them in both simulated settings and real-world applications with our robotic systems. With access to our proprietary robotic platforms, you will engage in significant projects utilizing state-of-the-art haptic and proprioceptive sensing technologies. This position presents a distinctive opportunity to explore and apply cutting-edge machine learning methodologies within a vibrant and collaborative atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to pinpoint opportunities for leveraging machine learning techniques to tackle intricate challenges.
- Architect, develop, and deploy machine learning models and algorithms tailored to meet specific organizational needs.
- Create scalable and efficient software solutions to incorporate machine learning models into operational systems.
- Enhance and optimize machine learning algorithms for superior performance and accuracy.
- Conduct comprehensive testing and validation of machine learning models to guarantee their robustness and reliability.
- Stay informed about the latest advancements in machine learning and share promising research directions with the team.

Required Qualifications
- A Master's degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 3 years of proven experience in various machine learning methods, particularly in areas such as dexterous manipulation with reinforcement learning or imitation learning, computer vision for robotics, or natural language processing.
- At least 4 years of experience in software engineering, emphasizing the development and deployment of production-grade applications.
- Proficient in ROS2.
- Experience with parallel computing technologies such as CUDA, OpenMP, or SSE.
- Familiarity with Atlassian tools, including Jira, GitLab, and Confluence.
- Experience in deploying machine learning models in production environments.
- Hands-on experience with leading machine learning frameworks and libraries, including TensorFlow, PyTorch, and scikit-learn.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and distributed computing frameworks (e.g., Spark) is advantageous.
- A solid understanding of robotics principles and technologies is highly desirable.
- Publications in prestigious AI, ML, or robotics conferences.
Essential Skills
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Python or C++.
- Extensive knowledge of machine learning techniques and algorithms, including supervised and unsupervised learning, deep learning, reinforcement learning, and natural language processing.
- Proficient in PyTorch and/or TensorFlow.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Strong communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
