The Juravinski Hospital & Cancer Centre, situated on the Hamilton escarpment, is renowned for its acute and tertiary care services, featuring a community emergency department, general medical and intensive care services, and a comprehensive surgical program, including a Regional Cancer Program.
Our Diagnostic Services team at HHS caters to a high volume of diverse adult and pediatric patients, providing round-the-clock services in multiple areas. Our offerings include X-Ray, CT Scan, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, PET, Ultrasound, and Interventional Radiology.
Position Overview
As a vital member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team, you will coordinate, conduct, and assess Diagnostic Services examinations across various modalities. You will guide and mentor clinical and technical associates and students within a teaching and research-focused environment, delivering patient care aligned with our core values of respect, compassion, innovation, and accountability. Depending on qualifications and unit needs, rotation through other modalities and sites may be necessary.
X-Ray Technologists at the Juravinski Hospital utilize cutting-edge equipment. Our team members receive comprehensive orientation and have opportunities for cross-training in other areas, such as CT. You will collaborate closely with our Emergency Department and Operating Room teams to ensure seamless patient care throughout their healthcare journey. Rotation through different modalities and sites may be required based on qualifications and unit demands.
Work Schedule
Shifts may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays (standby as needed).
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Radiological Technology program.
- Current registration in good standing with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO).
- Professional designation as a Registered Medical Radiology Technologist (MRT).
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
- Experience in imaging within a perioperative setting is preferred.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, critical thinking, and the capacity to prioritize in a fast-paced clinical setting.
- Evidence of ongoing education and professional development.
- Membership in CAMRT/OAMRT is preferred.
