Job Summary

An Industrial Electrician at Magna International is responsible for the installation, servicing, and maintenance of electrical apparatus to support production needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive instructions and prioritize tasks
  • Design, fabricate, install, program, and test new and modified equipment
  • Collaborate with other departments for troubleshooting and equipment maintenance
  • Perform repairs in a timely and efficient manner
  • Evaluate jobs, estimate time and materials required, and obtain necessary tools and equipment
  • Read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams, troubleshoot control problems, and carry out preventative maintenance
  • Operate forklifts and high lifts as needed
  • Assist other maintenance departments and personnel, and liaise with production, toolroom, engineering, and quality control
  • Liaise with contractors and suppliers through the purchasing department
  • Complete daily time sheets

Requirements

  • Certified Electrician with relevant papers
  • Ability to read, interpret, and amend detailed machine blueprints
  • Working knowledge of PLC programming, particularly with Allen Bradley, Omron, and Texas Instruments controllers
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently
