Job Description

As a Senior Data Engineer at Capgemini, you will be part of a self-organized team working on a large-scale social media platform that handles petabytes of data daily. Your primary responsibility will be to investigate, build, and implement solutions for technical challenges using cutting-edge technologies, including building and improving the data processing platform that enables software used by hundreds of millions of users.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to collect data requirements and develop data pipelines using Python to import data into Snowflake.
  • Ensure that assigned areas are delivered within set deadlines and required quality objectives.
  • Provide estimations, agree on task duration with the manager, and supply to the project plan of assigned areas.
  • Analyze the scope of alternative solutions and make decisions about area implementation based on technical expertise.
  • Report on area readiness/quality and raise red flags in crisis situations beyond their area of responsibility.
  • Resolve crisis situations within their area of responsibility.
  • Initiate and conduct code reviews, craft code standards, conventions, and guidelines.
  • Suggest technical and functional improvements to supply to the product.
  • Continuously improve their professional level.
Required Skills:
  • University degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience as a Data Engineer in crafting data pipelines for a cloud data warehouse.
  • Strong Python and SQL skills.
  • Experience building data pipelines in Python.
  • Experience with extracting data from REST APIs and ingesting it to a cloud data warehouse.
  • Experience working with S3 buckets and writing DAGs on Airflow.
  • Experience programmatically working with any cloud data warehouse.
  • Rigor in high code quality, automated testing, and other engineering standard processes.
  • Effective communication, collaboration, and social skills.
  • Result-oriented approach.
  • Good English (oral & written) and communication skills in general.
  • Experience in AWS.
