Your Responsibilities:
  • Lead multi-disciplinary project teams, including Engineers, Planners, Designers, and Inspectors, to achieve high-quality project outcomes that meet client expectations.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects, balancing resources and prioritizing deliverables effectively.
  • Develop project work plans and timelines, securing necessary approvals from management and clients.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with clients regarding project progress and quality, proactively addressing issues and risks.
  • Foster relationships with project stakeholders, including clients, vendors, regulatory bodies, and the public, ensuring they are informed of developments and managing expectations.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on project performance against established plans, addressing any changes with professionalism.
  • Prepare and lead project proposals, collaborating with team members to create comprehensive scopes of work and budgets.
  • Engage in business development activities, such as trade shows and client presentations, to promote WSP's services.
  • Guide project teams positively, adhering to WSP's principles of mentorship and empowerment.
  • Collaborate with financial teams to ensure timely client invoicing and resolve any disputes amicably.
Qualifications:

Core Qualifications:
  • A University Degree in Engineering or a Technical Diploma, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Over 10 years of experience in Project or Program Management related to the design or construction of linear transportation infrastructure, particularly in Freight Rail.
  • Experience with major railway clients such as CN, CPKC, and VIA Rail is advantageous.
  • Professional Engineer licensure in Canada is preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
Technical Skills:
  • Proven experience leading multi-disciplinary project teams, effectively managing scope, quality, and project completion within budget and time constraints.
  • Familiarity with freight railway infrastructure and associated facilities.
  • Understanding of various project delivery models.
  • Strong client management and business development skills, with knowledge of contract law and project management methodologies.
  • Experience in project planning, risk assessment, cost control, and performance reporting.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and project management software.

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience presenting to senior stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating with diverse teams and individuals.
