About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Intermediate Structural Engineer to join our team at Entuitive. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and delivering structural engineering projects that meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Structural Engineering Design: Develop and implement structural engineering designs for various projects, including columns, beams, slabs, foundations, and lateral systems.
  • Design and Engineering: Utilize materials such as structural steel, concrete, masonry, cold-formed structural steel, and wood to design and engineer structural components.
  • Collaboration and Coordination: Work with our BIM technologists and other engineering team members to assemble and coordinate engineering drawings and contract documents.
  • Field Reviews and Administrative Duties: Conduct field reviews and perform other contract administrative duties as required.
  • Project Correspondence: Draft project-related correspondence as needed.
  • Client Meetings and Communication: Participate in client meetings to facilitate solutions to design issues and challenges, and provide status updates.
  • Design Review: Conduct reviews of architectural, electrical, mechanical, and structural drawings.
  • Quality Assurance: Effectively use QA tools and complete checklists, submitting them to the project engineer as required.
  • Mentorship and Training: Mentor junior staff on design and delivery elements of a project to ensure standards are upheld.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: An engineering degree with a focus on civil and structural engineering, coupled with 4-8 years of professional experience in the AEC industry.
  • Professional Certification: Achieved or preferably working towards professional engineering (P.Eng) status in the Province of Ontario.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of appropriate building codes, strong project management capability, and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as structural analysis software (ETABS, SAP2000, RAM, etc.).
  • Communication and Teamwork: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work with people at all levels, including project stakeholders and clients.
  • Time Management and Prioritization: Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities, and deliverables on an ongoing basis.
