About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Environmental Scientist to join our team at WSP Canada. As a Senior Environmental Scientist, you will be responsible for leading complex water quality and aquatic health projects, providing technical expertise, and mentoring junior team members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement water quality and aquatic health monitoring programs for multiple sectors in BC and Western Canada.
  • Coach and develop project teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Provide leadership to project teams throughout the project life cycle.
  • Oversee quality assurance/quality control processes and ensure data accuracy.
  • Communicate complex scientific information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Support clients in regulatory and engagement efforts with Indigenous Groups, stakeholders, and the public.
  • Prepare technical reports for submission to provincial and federal regulatory authorities.
Requirements
  • University education in environmental science, toxicology, or biological sciences, or a related field.
  • Professional Registration as a Registered Professional Biologist (College of Applied Biology of British Columbia) or eligible for professional registration.
  • 12 to 15+ years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to provide leadership to teams of scientists and mentor junior team members.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Knowledge of BC and CCME water quality guidelines and the Environmental Assessment process in BC.
