Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Hydrovac Excavation Specialist will oversee all aspects of planning, execution, and management of non-mechanical excavation and equipment oversight to ensure client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform pre-trip and walk-around safety inspections. Operate all equipment functions independently and safely. Provide technical assistance to clients and team members as needed. Manage inventory and supplies efficiently. Coordinate machine operations with other activities, including load positioning and responding to hand or audio signals from team members. Interpret markers and signage on the site. Fulfill all reporting obligations. Adapt to outdoor weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, rain, sleet, snow, wind, and humidity. Work effectively under pressure while adhering to timelines and deadlines. Comply with Aecon-specific policies and regulations. Follow site-specific rules and regulations diligently. Safeguard and promote the interests of the company in all matters. Work with minimal supervision. Maintain clear communication with team members and clients. Mentor and train less experienced Hydrovac Operators. Collaborate as a team member by assisting others when necessary. Engage in repetitive tasks such as sitting, driving, and reaching. Be prepared to work extended hours as required.Comprehensive Training and Orientation:
Introduction to Aecon, our industry, and utility operations. All necessary health and safety training. Essential job-specific skills training. Preparation for on-site work and job readiness training.Opportunities for Growth:

Valid DZ or AZ license. Mechanical aptitude for hydraulic pumps, truck controls, and equipment. Physical strength and endurance. Completion of client-specific training as necessary. Ability to be dispatched through the local union in accordance with the collective agreement. Effective verbal and written communication skills with managers, peers, and clients. Capability to operate all equipment functions independently and safely. Willingness to work in various outdoor weather conditions. Commitment to fostering inclusion and diversity.The anticipated pay range for this union position is $41 - $44/hour.
