Role Summary: We are seeking a dedicated individual to manage and coordinate the design of all substation installations and modifications. This role is crucial in effectively planning, organizing, budgeting, directing, controlling, and leading engineering, design, and capital planning activities related to the expansion and refurbishment of substation facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of manpower, manhour, and labor cost requirements for projects, while monitoring actuals against estimates.
  • Oversee performance management, mentoring, and training of junior engineers to foster their professional growth.
  • Establish and maintain productive relationships with both internal and external organizations to facilitate collaboration.
  • Provide technical guidance to project teams to ensure adherence to organizational design standards and industry best practices.
  • Review and approve the work produced by the Substation Engineering department, ensuring high-quality outputs such as short circuit studies, relay settings, and control drawings.
  • Enhance overall department performance through continuous training and professional development initiatives.
  • Organize and prioritize departmental work to align with projected capital project milestones.
  • Collaborate with compliance departments to monitor regulatory requirements and maintain familiarity with applicable protection standards.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action planning for system events, ensuring accurate reporting.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is required, along with approximately 8+ years of experience in electric utility substation engineering or a related area.
