Position Overview:
The Senior Frontend Developer acts as a principal technical resource within the Web & Mobile development team, engaging in all stages of the development lifecycle. This role involves analyzing complex business and technical challenges to shape and deliver a robust digital platform. The Senior Frontend Developer is recognized as a subject matter expert in web technologies, responsible for configuring and optimizing front-end web applications, while also mentoring junior developers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with developers and product managers to conceptualize, build, test, and realize innovative products.
  • Gather and translate functional requirements into elegant solutions.

  • Work alongside web developers to establish and maintain a robust framework for project support.
  • Create engaging user interfaces and experiences tailored to specific devices.
  • Optimize application performance and stay updated on the latest trends in mobile and web technologies.
  • Communicate technologies and solutions effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Participate in industry events and conferences, both as an attendee and presenter.
  • Maintain thorough documentation and possess strong client handling and communication skills.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in commercial software development for both desktop and mobile platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of information architecture, human-computer interaction, and usability design principles.
  • A history of successfully delivering consumer and/or business products.
  • Ability to leverage analytic data and user testing to inform design decisions.
  • A passion for emerging consumer technology and media landscapes.
  • Strong multitasking and time management abilities.
  • Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Exceptional skills in unit testing, usability, quality assurance, scoping, and estimation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for liaising with various departments.

Essential Skills:
Advanced proficiency in the following technologies:

  • In-depth knowledge of native JavaScript.
  • Front-end web technologies including AngularJS, Node, Bootstrap, CSS3, HTML5, jQuery, and Ajax.
  • Familiarity with web development tools and frameworks.
  • Experience with CSS preprocessing (e.g., LESS) and front-end build tools (e.g., Gulp, Grunt).
  • Knowledge of JavaScript testing frameworks (e.g., Jasmine, Karma) and front-end components (e.g., Bower).
  • Experience with JavaScript compression and minification (e.g., Uglify).
  • Proficiency in developer/build tools such as GIT and Jenkins.
  • Understanding of code analysis tools (e.g., PMD, Checkstyle, Findbugs, Sonar).
  • Knowledge of web performance optimization techniques.
  • Strong design and programming capabilities.
  • Familiarity with coding standards and naming conventions.
  • Experience with web service integration (SOAP, REST, JSON, XML).
  • Good understanding of design patterns and excellent debugging and optimization skills.
  • Conceptual knowledge of data caching and synchronization.
  • (Optional) Familiarity with cross-platform SDKs.

Educational Background:
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in developing published mobile/web applications across various platforms. Experience with third-party libraries and APIs is a plus. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential, along with leadership potential and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
