The University Health Network is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our team in a leadership role. As an Advanced Practice Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading quality improvement initiatives, and contributing to the development of policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of complex medical conditions
- Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure best practices in patient care
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide seamless care coordination
- Participate in research activities to advance the field of nursing and improve patient care
- Deliver education and professional development programs to enhance the skills of healthcare professionals
- Master's degree in Nursing required
- Registered Nurse (EC) certification complete or pending
- Nurse Practitioner (NP) Adult certificate complete or pending
- Current Certificate of Competence with College of Nurses of Ontario
- Additional education and experience in area of specialty required
- A minimum of 5 years relevant experience, including 3 years in acute care medicine; rehab experience an asset
- Expertise and/or certification in diabetes care, wound care
- Knowledge of care requirements related to dialysis (hemo and peritoneal), palliative care
- Confidence in the care of medically complex adults with multiple co-morbidities
- Experience in nursing research, program planning, and evaluation methodologies
- Eligible for cross-appointment to an academic institution required
- Membership in the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO): related professional interest group or association preferred
- Excellent time management skills
- Excellent decision-making, problem recognition and problem solving skills
- Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Program planning and evaluation methodology skills
- Commitment to collaborative practice
- Ability to work effectively independently and under stressful conditions
- Ability to utilize information technology
- Ability to interpret and communicate appropriate policies and procedures to staff
