Control Systems Programmer Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Control Systems Programmer to join our dynamic Automation team in Edmonton/Calgary. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in designing, upgrading, migrating, and expanding automation systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement automation systems that enhance plant operations.
  • Translate control narratives into effective control strategies, programming everything from simple to complex loops, shutdown keys, and Safety Instrumented Functions (SIFs).
  • Lead client-witnessed acceptance testing, perform loop checks, interface with third-party systems, and ensure everything is running smoothly.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships by delivering superior experiences and supporting their needs every step of the way.
  • Collaborate with instrumentation and network teams to troubleshoot, test, and deliver high-quality results.
  • Prepare clear and concise technical reports while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
Requirements:
  • Trade, tech, or engineering school certification with advanced knowledge of Rockwell Automation/Allen Bradley ControlLogix and FactoryTalk View (both ME and SE).
  • Hands-on experience with commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintaining control systems in industrial environments.
  • Familiarity with industrial communication networks (EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP/IP, Modbus RTU) and additional platforms like Schneider Electric Modicon, Emerson DeltaV, Wonderware, or Honeywell C200/C300 is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently while also thriving in a team environment, with strong planning, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
