Job Title: Senior Interior Designer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Interior Designer to join our team at Kasian Architecture, Interior Design and Planning. As a Senior Interior Designer, you will be responsible for leading the design direction on multiple projects, collaborating with clients, and mentoring junior designers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement interior design concepts that meet client needs and project goals.
  • Lead and participate in the design process, including creating design concepts, presentation materials, and submission documentation.
  • Chair design and production meetings, ensuring timely and effective communication with clients and project stakeholders.
  • Prepare and coordinate project schematic/conceptual designs, layouts, sketches, and space plans.
  • Participate in strategic planning, client programming, and needs analysis phases.
  • Work with technical and contract administration staff to produce successful design development and contract documentation.
  • Coordinate with project consultants and construction managers to ensure project success.
Requirements:
  • Diploma or degree in Interior Design.
  • NCIDQ certification is preferred.
  • 10 to 15 years of interior design experience.
  • Strong knowledge of current industry trends, local industry manufacturers, and representation.
  • Ability to prepare and complete a comprehensive interior design construction set of drawings.
  • Advanced design awareness and knowledge of interior design principles and elements.
  • Advanced understanding of construction and construction administration process.
  • Knowledge of applicable building codes and by-laws.
  • Permit application knowledge.
  • Strong knowledge and proficiency in graphics software (Revit, AutoCAD, Sketch-up, Adobe Suite).
  • Excellent graphic presentation and design layout skills.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain client relationships.
  • Ability to present to, and negotiate with clients.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Be able to lead projects with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and experience in delivering high-quality design solutions.
