About the Role

The Electrical Engineer will provide technical leadership and support in the design, development, and maintenance of electrical and automation systems and controls at Novelis' Kingston Works. This role will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of electrical systems, as well as collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve plant goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electrical and automation systems, including electrical layout drawings, cable sizing, and selection, routing, and scheduling.
  • Collaborate with contractors on project specification, control plan, system testing, and commissioning.
  • Troubleshoot automation control problems and improve system performance in a manufacturing environment.
  • Develop and maintain electrical and automation system documentation, including P&IDs, specifications, and project requirements.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and efficiency standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
  • Proven experience as an Electrical Engineer or Control/Systems Engineer in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with electrical control system programming, including PLC brands (Siemens, Modicon, Allen-Bradley, and Rockwell).
  • Project experience with HMI products (WinCC Flexible, RSView, and InTouch).
  • Experience with AC/DC motor drives and electrical AUTOCAD.
  • Electrical and control system commissioning and maintenance experience.
