Job Summary

PCL Constructors Canada Inc. is seeking an Engineering Student to join our Atlantic Canada District team in Cape Breton, NS. As an Engineering Student, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our team by coordinating drawings, conducting trade quote reviews, participating in project meetings, and more.

Responsibilities
  • Project Coordination
    • Coordinate drawings and scope of work
    • Conduct trade quote reviews and verify material quantities
    • Participate in project meetings and conduct deficiency walks
    • Input and update deficiency logs, issue warranties, and take progress photos
    • Update field drawings and produce as-built drawings
  • Field Coordination
    • Perform quantity takeoffs and coordinate sub-trade work
    • Verify site conditions and coordinate with drawings
    • Supervise sub-trade work and set up record keeping
    • Layout site lines and grades using total station
  • Scheduling
    • Update project schedules and create manual schedules
    • Create and update schedules using Primavera P6 EPPM software
    • Obtain scheduling information from sub-trades and create graphical scheduling using AutoCAD
    • Monitor workforce productivity
Qualifications
  • Candidates must have a strong desire to work in a construction environment and prior field construction experience will be considered an asset
  • Application of various computer software programs will be required, including word processing, spreadsheet applications, and drafting
