Key Responsibilities- Supervise and mentor junior supervisors to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
- Review and approve the labor balance of foremen, journeymen, and laborers to ensure optimal resource allocation.
- Manage contract administration, including meetings with subcontractors and site managers.
- Develop and implement a program to maintain positive relationships with clients, architects, engineers, suppliers, subcontractors, and site personnel.
- Organize and participate in regular meetings with clients to resolve issues and plan for future projects.
- Supervise and approve monthly project cost updates and quarterly cash flow projections.
- Review, approve, and negotiate change orders.
- Develop and implement a project completion and handover plan.
- Maintain a daily journal for record-keeping purposes.
- Ensure timely performance evaluations of direct reports.
- Recommend changes to organizational structure, policies, procedures, or personnel as needed.
- Review and approve or reject promotions to the position of senior foreman.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in construction, including at least 3 years as a mechanical supervisor or in a management role (preferably on infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, dams, wastewater treatment plants, etc.).
- Ability to supervise multiple disciplines (steel, piping, mechanical).
- Autonomy, high motivation, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to learn and quickly understand Kiewit's policies, procedures, and software.
- Ability to detect and resolve problems that may arise.
- Excellent organizational, administrative, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong experience in leadership, safety, negotiations, planning, and contract administration.
- Fluency in French (written and spoken) is required.
- Functional knowledge of English (written and spoken) is considered an asset, as mobility between Canadian provinces is required. Courses may be offered as needed.
