About the Job

We are seeking a skilled Framing Carpenter to join our team at Bester Construction. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for building and installing structures, including framing, installing windows and doors, and finishing interior and exterior surfaces.

Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems
  • Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware
  • Maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in various settings
Work Environment

You will work in a fast-paced construction environment with varying weather conditions. You will be required to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in noisy and dusty conditions.

Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in the trade
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent physical stamina and ability to lift heavy loads
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
