Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a skilled Orthopedic Surgeon to join our team at Medicine in Motion Sports Medicine and Arthritis Care Centre. As a multi-disciplinary sports medicine clinic, we provide comprehensive care for patients with musculoskeletal-related problems. Our team includes sports medicine physicians, physiotherapists, massage therapists, and orthotists, all working together to provide exceptional patient care.
ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Examining patients and taking their medical histories, ordering diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures, and advising patients on healthcare, health promotion, and disease prevention.
- Consulting and referring patients to other medical practitioners as needed.
- Acting as a patient advocate and providing support throughout their care journey.
- Prescribing and administering medications and treatments, inoculations, and vaccinations.
- Reporting births, deaths, contagious diseases, and other health concerns to public health authorities.
Hours of work will be discussed with the clinic.
QualificationsThe ideal candidate will be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia and certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada. They will also be a member of the Canadian Medical Protective Association.
