About the Role

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Mental Health Rehabilitation Worker to join our team at UBC Hospital in Vancouver, BC. As a member of our interdisciplinary tertiary mental health team, you will provide comprehensive psychosocial rehabilitation services within a recovery framework.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with individuals living with severe and persistent mental illnesses to increase functional skills and abilities, reduce symptoms, and improve coping strategies.
  • Provide physical, emotional, and social supports, advocacy, life skills assistance, and support to access resources.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop individualized rehabilitative treatment plans.
  • Contribute to the overall evaluation of the client and observe and monitor progress, symptoms, and behavioral changes.
Requirements
  • Grade 12, Social Services Diploma, or Certificate from a recognized Health Care Worker educational program.
  • Two years' experience working in a psychiatric setting with individuals who have complex mental health and addictions issues.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, deal with others effectively, and organize work.
