Job Title: Senior Property Accountant

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Property Accountant to join our team at CB Canada. As a key member of our accounting team, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of properties in Canada and the US.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and process consolidated monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including journal entries, expense accruals, and balance sheet account analysis.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting packages for senior management.
  • Review trial balances provided by 3rd party property managers for completeness and perform analysis.
  • Prepare quarterly forecasts and liaise with senior management to determine reasonableness.
  • Prepare multiple HST returns and review daily; prepare bank reconciliations for a number of bank accounts and ensure all intercompany balances reconciled and cleared monthly.
  • Prepare annual budgets and consolidation of budgets from 3rd party property managers.
  • Provide financial statements to mortgage lenders as required.
  • Prepare detailed working papers for the annual review engagement for Canada and USA.
  • Perform ad hoc requests as directed by Controller and Senior Management.
Requirements:
  • Preference will be given to candidates with professional accounting designation (CPA).
  • Experience using Yardi Voyageur is required.
  • Intermediate to advanced working knowledge of MS Excel is required.
  • 3-5 years of property accounting experience is preferred.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • A team player who can work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, cope with changing priorities.
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude.
