Role Overview

The Communications Coordinator collaborates closely with the Communications Officer to enhance public relations, social media, and communication initiatives for the Faculty of Applied Sciences. This role involves researching and crafting written content tailored for diverse audiences, including current and prospective students, alumni, government entities, community organizations, donors, and industry stakeholders. Responsibilities include generating content in various formats such as news articles, press releases, newsletters, event promotions, social media posts, and marketing materials for both digital and print mediums.

Qualifications

Applicants should possess an undergraduate degree in a relevant field along with two years of experience in public relations, science communication, marketing, or a comparable combination of education and experience.

  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong understanding of communication and marketing strategies across various platforms (e.g., web, print, social media).
  • Proficient in conveying scientific and technical concepts to a broad audience.
  • Familiarity with website content management systems and analytical tools (e.g., Adobe CQ5, Google Analytics).
  • Knowledge of email marketing strategies and compliance with best practices.
